FRESH ORGANISATION PALMERSTON NORTH TROI’BLE RESIGNATION OF SECRETARY (Special to Time? 11 PALMERSTON N.. Thursday The resignation of the organising secretary, Mr H. Kissling, was received at a meeting of the general committee of the Manawatu and West Coast Agricultural and Pastoral Association today. In a letter to the committee Mr Kissling said his resignation was the outcome or a situation which had arisen because of divided opinion among members of the committee which considered the reorganisation of the association’s affairs. The action of the committee in offering him the secretaryship on a part-time basis with a right of private practice was appreciated, said Mr Kissling. but he regretted he could not accept the offer. The meeting, over which Mr A. E. Mansford. vice-president, presided, also considered the recent resignations of the president, Mr C. E. Vile, the senior vice-president, Mr B. Keiller, and six members of the committee. After some discussion it was decided that the resignations be received and that as the amendment to the original recommendation at the previous meeting was not a vote of no-confidence in the sub-com-mittee, they be asked to stand for re-election. Before the meeting ended Mr J. A. Mitchell raised the question of a report of the previous meeting which was supplied to newspapers. The meeting was held in committee, he said, and the question as to who supplied the report he would leave with the committee. After urging that a close watch be kept on the position so that the association would not pass into the hands of the Palmerston North City Council, Mr Mitchell handed in his resignation and left the room.
