AMERICAN SHIPS
SOLD TO BELGIAN COMPANY BREACH OF NEUTRALITY (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyrig-ht) WASHINGTON, Feb. 19 In the House of Representatives Mr Hamilton Fish (Republican—Garrison, New York) said the sale of American ships to a Belgian company was an outrageous subterfuge and a breach of United States neutrality which would invite submarine operations off the American coast.
As the Belgian Company’s payment down would be only 137,000 dollars, the United States Line would be maintaining a 97 per cent mortgage.
