TIMBER AND WINE DESTROYED FIREMEN’S NARROW ESCAPE (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) SYDNEY, Feb. 18 Huge stocks of timber and costly machinery were destroyed by fire yesterday at the yards of Messrs A. and E. Ellis on a bank of the Parramatta River at Rhodes, New South Wales. Several firemen had narrow escapes when the roof crashed and missed them by inches. Another fire destroyed 50,000 gallons of wine in the cellars at the Bukkulla vineyard's, Inverell, yesterday. The owner, Mr Frederick Asimus, estimates his loss at £30.000.
