Not A Political Issue
When a letter from the New Zealand Defence League, asking for the council’s views on compulsory military training, was received at the monthly meeting of the Waipa County Council yesterday. Mr F. L. Onion pointed out that it had been suggested local bodies were using the question as a political lever. Councillors agreed the issue was too serious to be made a party political matter.
