SHEEP AT FRANKTON G. W. Vercoe and Company, Ltd., report having held their weekly store sheep sale at Frankton on Wednesday, when an exceptionally heavy entry came forward. The 1 quality and condition of the rams was on a par with that of previous years but the demand was not as keen as usual, buyers not being present In their usual good numbers. Some attractive pens of Southdown* were offered, hut the bidding on these was slack and only a few pens or except.ionally good quality rams elicited any good competition. Prices for Southdowns were below expectations and In quite a number of instances no bidding was received. The Romneys started nrr fairly well although on a lower , level than last year, and owing in lack or demand quite a number of pens of these were also passed. Top price for Southdowns was obtained by Mr H. Rotliery, of Hangatlki, at 8 gns. while line* of good rams from Messrs W. W. Johnnstone, \v. I. Hunt and R. Roddy sold at up to 7 gns.
