DAIRY PICNIC
RESULTS OF SPORTS The staff of the New Zealand Cooperative Dairy Company held their annual picnic at Waihi Beach. Unj settled weather conditions somewhat I affected the attendance, nevertheless j the outing was enjoyed by all. The I weather cleared during the afternoon. enabling an interesting sports programme to be held. Chief interest was centred in the relay race for the Dynes Fulton Memorial Shield, which was won by Deductions Dei partment after an exciting race. Results are as follows: 100 yards men’s championship: T. M. Roper 1, li. Whyte 2, G. Hopcroft 3. Men's Relay (Dynes Fulton Memorial Shield): Deductions Department (B. O. Jones, L. Mead, W. Macdonald, T. M. Roper), 1: Trading Department. 2: Counting House. 3. Women’s relay (Daldy Cup): Trading Department (Misses W. Fry. M. Whittaker. P. McCaughan, V. Westwood), 1: Butterfat (a). 2; Butterfat (b). 3. Women's 100 yards: Misses M. Whittaker and M. Findlater, dead- I heat, 1: Miss Olsen (Matangi), 3. Men's 100 yards: H. Whyte, 1: G. | Hopcroft, 2: M. Crump, 3. * Three-legged race; Miss Westwood
