OFFENDERS BEFORE COURT CHARGE OF INTOXICATION Several motorists appeared in the Police Court, Hamilton, to-day when the fortnightly list of charges relating to breaches of the traffic regulations was heard for the first time this year. The prosecutions were conducted by Sergeant H. Fryer, before Messrs J. R. Fow and G. K. Sinclair, J’s.P. A further remand for one week was granted in the case in which William Moses, aged 41, a farm labourer (Mr J. F. Strang) was charged with being intoxicated when in charge of a car in Bride Street on January 5. Bail of £SO in his own recognisance, and one surety of £SO was renewed. For driving a motor-car without a license, Alice Emily Halcrow, of Frankton, was fined 10s and costs. Richard James Holmes (Mr J. F. Strang) was convicted and fined £3 and costs for failing to yield the right of way to a pedestrian at a crossing in Victoria Street. He knocked down a man, who had to received hospital attention. The operation of a motor vehicle without a warrant of fitness led to Leslie Vincent Mathers, of Te Awamutu, being fined 5s and costs. Edith Ann Madge Christey, of Devonport, Auckland, was fined £1 and costs for failing to yield to a motor vehicle on her right at an intersection.
