PLANES FOR DOMINION

100 FOR TRAINING PURPOSES FIRST SHIPMENT ARRIVES (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Saturday The De Havilland Aircraft Company’s factory is in production. The first of the 100 aeroplanes ordered by the Government for use as light trainers are out of the cases and away. The first month’s output is straight assembly, but as subsequent shipments come to hand more and more of the contents of the cases will be semi-manufactured and, later, raw material. De Havillands decided on a factory a year ago for commercial aeroplanes, but the war speeded matters up. The aeroplanes are the latest of D.H. light model biplanes, fitted with full-range instruments for all initial training and for navigational instruction and blind flying.
