The Hon. W. E. Parry, Minister of Internal Affairs, has advised the Morrinsville Athletic and Cycling Club that he will attend the club’s sports meeting on January 2 if he is not detained by ministerial duties.

Mr R. McCallum, of Marlborough, is visiting the Waikato.

Mr J. R. Fow, of Hamilton, is gazetted as a member of the Hamilton Licensing Committee.

Mr S. G. Riddell is gazetted deputyregistrar of births and deaths of Maoris at Te Awamutu.

Messrs F. Cain (Hastings), E. Pankhurst and G. S. Godber (Wellington) are at the Commercial Hotel.

Mr Roland Foster, professor of singing at Sydney Conservatorium, is visiting Auckland. He will come to Hamilton later. Mr J. S. Thomas, of Kereone, has been oppointed a member of the Kiwitahi Rabbit Board, filling the vacancy caused by the recent resignation of Mr Ramsay, of Tauwhare. Messrs J. R. Higginson, S. G. Russell, J. T. Kempthorne, R. W. Calder, H. T. Wills, G. H. Barton, and A. H. Rowe are gazetted as members of the Whatawhata Domain Board. Lieutenant C. Pike, who has been conductor of the Palmerston North Garrison Band for nine years, has been appointed officer commanding the Trentham Military Band. Messrs E. H. Russell, E. M. Robertson, E. Isherwood, S. Ramsay (Wellington), L. V. Fisher (Auckland) and G. Hunter (Christchurch) are at the Hamilton Hotel. Pastor William A. Spicer, world field secretary of the Seventh Day Adventist General Conference, of Washington, is paying his third visit to New Zealand to attend the annual Seventh Day Adventist Conference in Auckland from December 27 to January 7. He will then proceed to Christchurch to attend the South Island conference. He is accompanied by Pastor A. G. Stewart, vice-presi-dent of the Australasian Union Conference. and Pastpr W. J. Westerman, field secretary for Australia and New Zealand.
