TE MATA FUNCTION
GIFT EVENING The Te Mata Hall was well filled recently when a joint gift evening was tendered to Misses Mary Stephenson and Margaret Peacocke, who are having a double wedding on December 27. As the young ladies entered the hall they were presented with bouquets by little Misses Marie Watkins and Dell Wharton. Most of the evening was spent in dancing, music being supplied by Mrs G. E. Saunders, Miss Jocelyn Cussen and Messrs Gilmour Brothers and J. Munns. Supper was served by the Te Mata ladies after which Mr R. J. Nicholson spoke eulogistically of their guests and on behalf of all present wished them success and happiness in their future lives. Mr Leslie Spiers returned thanks. Mr Frank Vernon officiated as master of ceremonies. Miss Stephenson wore a blue taffeta frock and Miss Peacocke palepink taileUk.
