PROVINCIAL TOURNEY

FIXTURE IN HAMILTON ARRANGEMENTS COMPLETED All arrangements are finalised for the opening of the Provincial cricket tournament at Hamilton, commencing on Christmas Day. Four teams are entered and a full week's sport will be enjoyed, concluding on December 29, when the final will be completed. The two main wickets at Seddon Park will be used. These have been carefully attended to by the Waikato Cricket Association and, with the fine weather experienced during the last week, should be in excellent order. The teams taking part are Auckland B, Auckland City and Suburban, Poverty Bay and Waikato. Four points will be awarded for an outright win, three for a first inning’s victory, two for a draw and one for a loss on the first innings. Hours of play will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with intervals for lunch and afternoon tea. The draw is:— December 25: Auckland B v. City and Suburban; Waikato v. Poverty Bay. December 26: Auckland B v. Waikato; City and Suburban v. Poverty Bay. December 27: Auckland B. v. Poverty Bay; Waikato v. City and Suburban. The final will take place on the Thursday and Friday. The following Waikato teams will play on the days indicated:— Monday.—E. Everest, P. Jordan, W. Cassidy, S. A. R. Badeley, J. D. Bright, K. L. Sandford, M. Cooper, R. Skeet, L. Hansen, T. Lyon, G. D. Laurie, H. Lyon, twelfth man. Tuesday.—S. A. Badeley, J. D. Bright, T. Ganley, N. Winger, C. G. Hunt, R. Skeet, L. Hansen, H. Lyon, T. Lyon, H. Going, J. Everest, G. D. Laurie, twelfth man.
