(By Telegraph.— special to Times) AUCKLAND, Thursday The Inside grass track, which was In use at Takaninl this morning provided excellent going and some gallops were registered by horses with engagements at the Auckland meeting. Arvakur heat Orelto In record time, while Maxam was also responsible for a brilliant effort. Sunola got to the end of seven furlongs In 1.28, after running the first live in 13 an excellent performance. Proud Fox gained an advantage over Gladynev soon arter they started from the seven post and tlnished two lengths ahead in 1.29 1-5, arter running the tlrst three In 37 3-5 S and the first half-mile In 50 3-SS. Arvakur and Orelio ware sent six furlongs. Arvakur cleared right out from hi# companion over the concluding stages and defeated Orelio by three lengths in 1.12 1-6, after running the first three in 34 2-ss. This broke the track record of 1.12 4-6 established by Greek Gold and Exaggeration some years ago. Tip Toes covered a similar distance in 1.17 2-5, going fast early to run the first

three In 36 4-ss, and the first four In 50s. Paddy the Rip and Mainara were sent over the same ground, the last Tour furlongs taking 525, with Namara working well. There was little between Cornish and Milanion at the end or six rurlongs in 1.15 1- the first three in 3 6s, Veritable sprinted half a mile, taking 36 2-5 s ror bis last three furlongs. Princess Val, arter running her first half-mile in 50 1-5, completed seven lurlongs in 1.30 3-5, doing ner work well. Grandora Shapes Well Urandora was much too good for Gay Movie at the end of five furlongs in 1.l 2- after displaying speed early to run Ills first two furlongs In 2 3 3-5. Grandora covered a lot of extra ground by running wide at the turn. .Miss Valerie was responsible for an excellent effort over five furlongs, registering 1.1 2-5. Palustre went about Tour rurlongs and three-quarters, covering the last hair-mile in 48 3-5.

There was little between Money Spinner and Lovaals at the conclusion of five rurlongs in 1.2 4-5. Over the same distance Maxam registered the best figures, covering the distance in 1.0. It Is doubtrul ir this time has ever been bettered at Takaninl. Bronwen and Buccaneer ran six rurlongs in 1.14 3-5. Flood Tide was sent a mile and a-quar-ter, which he covered in 2.11, the first half-mile taking 52 3-5. This was an excellent trial and there is no doubt that Flood Tide is right back to his best form.
