CHARM OF WAIHI
IMPROVEMENT TO ROAD
CAMPING FACUITIES
The Waihi Beach is under the control of the Waihi Borough of which it forms part although cut off by some seven miles of country. The road from the town to the beach has now been reconditioned and is bitumen sealed for most of the distance. The motor camp has been entirely remodelled and each site measures 24 feet square with a road to every site. Ablution places are provided for each sex with a good supply of water supplied, under pressure, to all campers. In the kitchen on the camping ground cooking is done by bottled rockgas supplied to double burner hotplates through Id in the slot meters. Leasehold Sections Available The council has levelled and roaded a new subdivision and sections are offered for lease for 21 years with a perpetual right of renewal. Here is a splendid opportunity of securing a place at this favourite beach on very favourable terms. The council will be pleased to answer any enquiries. Tennis Courts There are four hard tennis courts at Waihi Beach. All have been resurfaced and are in fine condition. They are shown in the centre of the photo which appears on this page. Last season the courts were extremely well patronised and with the expected influx of people this season the attention paid to them will be much appreciated. Stores at Beach There is no need to take provisions to the beach. There are excellent stores whose advertisements appear on this page and groceries, bread, meat, fish, etc., are easily procurable. Fresh cut vegetables are obtainable from the market garden at the township while milk and cream are delivered twice daily. Benzine, motor repairs and tyre service are also available. The stores in Waihi itself set themselves out to cater for visitors and as announced elsewhere the selection can be a good one as full stocks of beach necessities are carried.
