The second series or matches in the Piakn South section cricket competition opened on Saturday. The outstanding- batting performance of the day was a knock of 106 bv M. Roberts, playing for Old Boys against Gordon. He had scored 09 against Matamata the previous Saturday and on both occasions gave good exhibitions of conhdent batting. D.
