TERRIBLE MISERY
CONDITIONS IN WARSAW BODIES UNDER THE RUINS 60,000 PEOPLE INJURED (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) LONDON, Nov. 4 The fact that conditions of indescribable misery continue to pre-, vail in Warsaw is confirmed by the Berlin correspondent of the Copenhagen newspaper Berlingske Tidende, and the Warsaw correspondent of the Vatican newspaper Osservatore Romano. Seventy-five per cent of the buildings were razed by bombs which sometimes passed through six or seven storeys and exploded like a volcano. Sixty thousand injured people are still in the city, and there is a serious shortage of doctors. Thousands of bodies under the ruins are gravely menacing health. German experts say it might be years before it is possible accurately to estimate Poland’s losses. Germany took 710,000 prisoners and Russia 130,000. It is' believed 60,000 fled to Rumania, Lithuania and Latvia, and 1,000,000 are unaccounted for.
