MATINEE TROTTING
EVENTS AT EPSOM DOUBLE TO NARBADA (Special to Tlmea) AUCKLAND, Saturday Favoured with the fine weather, the matinee meeting staged at Epsom to-day by the Auckland Trotting Owners, Trainers and Breeders’ Association proved very successful. The track was in good order and smart times were registered. The outstandperformer was Narbada, who won the F. C. Knight Memorial, and with a penalty of 36 yards scored again later in the Waikato Plate. A good deal of interest was taken in the parade of two-year-olds, 12 well-bred juveniles taking part. The Jewel Pointer—Trustworthy gelding and Earl’s Pride, by Robert Earl—lvy War, drew away at the half-mile tor an interesting duel for the winning post, the unnamed yougster scoring a narrow victory. Representing the sister sport, Dr. E. H. B. Milsom, president of the New Zealand Racing Owners, Breeders and Trainers’ Association, made some of the presentations to winners.
