JOLLY DANCE
BATTERY MAJOR FAREWELLED MANY MEMBERS AND FRIENDS A very jolly dance was held last night in the Regent Ballroom by members of the 2nd. Medium Battery to farewell Mrs E. F. GlaytonGreene and Major Clayton-Greene, 0.8. E., who has been appointed to a military command in Auckland. Informal gaiety was the keynote of the evening, and the large number of members and their friends spent a very happy time, dancing to excellent music supplied by George Brown and his Regent Dance Band. During the evening a presentation of a crystal bowl was made to Mrs Clayton-Greene and a set of brushes in leather case to Major ClaytonGreene by Captain M. Yendell, who has been appointed to fill his place. Captain Yendell made eulogistic reference to Major Clayton-Greene and to the standard the battery had attained under his command.
The guest of honour suitably replied. On arrival Mrs Clayton-Greene, who was wearing a picture frock of hydrangea-blue taffeta, was presented with a posy by Mrs Yendell, who was in a gown of peach-pink faconne beaded in gold.
