“A WEEK OLD”

DAVENTRY BROADCAST NEW ZEALAND DIVISION HON. P. FRASER EXPLAINS (By TelegTsph. —Press Association) WELLINGTON, Monday The acting-Prime Minister, the Hon. P. Fraser, made a statement today in connection with the following broadcast announcement this morning from Daventry: “It has been announced that New Zealand has offered a fully-equipped division for service in any part of the world- We stand or fall together, in war or peace, defeat or victory. The Chief of the General Staff in New Zealand has ordered ’simultaneous mobilisation in New Zealand and London for this force.” “It is nothing more than a week old and belated condensation of my remarks in Parliament," said Mr Fraser when his attention was drawn to the statement. “The preparations that are being made here are certainly such as will enable a division to be made available in due course, either here or abroad, in any part of the world, if and when circumstances may require it; but the announcement is simply a deduction from the statement that all our resources ar?V at the disposal of the United Kingdom. The position has not changed since I made my statement in Parliament.”
