8000 ATTEND FUNERAL (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WANGANUI, Sunday The funeral obsequies for Mr T. W. Ratana were .conducted today when the Maori leader was buried in front of the temple at Ratana Pa. About 8000 Maoris and Europeans attended. The Government was represented by the acting-Prime Minister, the Hon. P. Fraser, the Minister of Labour, the Hon. P. C. Webb, and the acting-Minister of Native Affairs, the Hon. F. W. Langstone. Among other members of Parliament present was Sir Apirana Ngata. The colourful religious service lasted over two hours. Maoris continue to arrive daily for the tangi, which will last the whole of this week.
