1162 IN HAMILTON AREA The number of volunteers in the special military force for active service abroad or in New Zealand is expanding each day. In the No. 4 area. 1162 men have registered. AlLhough no further medical examinations havo been conducted in the area since Wednesday, the final check on the tests showed that of the 564 men dentally and medically examined, 372 were passed as fit for" active service, 122 were temporarily unlit, and the remaining 70 were deemed permanently unfit. Addilional registrations since yesterday are:—-Benjamin Tozer Backhouse, Geoffery David Bartlett, John Brown, John Robert Hutchinson. Alfred Mitchell, lioy Vincent Quin. Arthur George Walker. WAIRARAPA’S RESPONSE 231 ENLISTMENTS (By Telegrapn.—Pres? Association) MASTER-TON, Saturday The district’s recruits now number 231. Of 171 examined so far, 127 have bti-n pronounced lit and eitjlit temporarily unfit.
