FOOTBALL CLUB’S “SMOKO” (Special to Times) PIRONGIA, Friday. The Pirongia Football Club lield its end-of-the-season smoke concert on Wednesday night in the Memorial Rail. Vi.-it-ors from Te Paliu, Paterangi and Ngutunui attended. Mr Eric Bell was in the chair. Prominent in the musical numbers were Mr Les Mounsey (who sang songs of liis own composition and accompanied himself very ably on the Spanish guitar), and Mr l*. Tautari. Mr Tautari sang tenor songs and played the piano. During the evening speeches were made by the club captain, Mr Jack Grace, who commented on the season’s play, and Mr E. c. Beet, who complimented the members or the club on their fine showing in matches played during the season and Unsporting spirit which was evident throughout. Toasts honoured during the evening included “The Club,” "uur Visitors” and “Absent Friends.'’
