NO SERIOUS FIRES
HALF-YEARLY REVIEW HAMILTON BOARD’S MEETING During the period from April 17, the brigade received 34 calls, none of which was of a serious nature, stated the report of Superintendent A. Craig, which was presented at the half-yearly meeting of the Hamilton Fire Board yesterday. Of the calls 10 were to property fires, 14 to chimney fires, six to gorse and refuse fires and four were false alarms, one of which was maliciously given. The full strength of 25 brigade members was maintained until recently, when two members resigned owing to their employment taking them away from Hamilton. The attendance at the weekly drills had been satisfactory and the street fire alarm system continued to give good service. The remainder of the plant was in good order. Three motor garages had been completed at the rear of the station from the material available from the original sheds. The work was carried out by the permanent staff. I The report was received.
