WAR TAX PROPOSALS CHARGE BY OPPOSITION LEGISLATION NOT READY (By TeiegTapfi.—Special to Times) WELLLNOTON, Thursday The acting-Prime Minister, the lion. P. Fraser, announced in the House of Representatives tonight that the Government s taxation pruposals for financ.nt-r New Zealand's effort in the war would be introduced on Tuesday. Between now and then he wished to clear the Order Paper as much as possible. Mr Fraser's announcement was made in reply to the Leader of tlie opposition, the Don. A. Hamilton, who said during the debate on the Small Farms Amendment Bill that the Government had not got its business ready and was not in any hurry to get* through the discussion on the Bill. “The hon. gentleman said the reason why the discussion was going on was lhat the Government was not ready with its financial legisaition,” Air Fraser said. “It is quite true the Government is not ready, it will not be ready until Tuesday, when the legislation will come down, but 1 am anxious to get as much work done as possible by Tuesday to clear the Order Paper."
