BILL PASSED BY HOUSE QUICK PABBAQE OF MEASURE ACQUISITION OF AERODROME (By Telegraph.—Special to Time*) WELLINGTON, Thursday A few minutes was sufficient for the passage of the Waikato Airport Bill through all stages la the House of Representatives today. "This Bill simply empowers the Hamilton Borough Council to acquire an aerodrome at present privately owned.” said Mr C. A. Barrel! (•Government—Hamilton) in moving the second reading of the Bill. "The council also asks for power to purchase more land to extend the aerodrome," Mr Barren continued. "This aerodrome is situated practically in the centre of the Waikato district and it is essential that they should have there an up-to-date aerodrome able to carry the latest machines, particularly w arplanes and Ihe larger commercial types." Mr Barrell said there were nine local bodies Involved and all agreed with the terms of the Bill. The Bill was put through its remaining stages and passed.
