KAIPAKI NEWS

GIFT EVENING There was a large attendance at the Kaipaki Hall recently, when the many friends of Miss Vera Christiansen and Mr Douglas Kite tendered them a gift evening, on the occasion of their ap- / proaching marriage. The evening was spent in dancing, the music being supplied by Mrs Wiley (Ohaupo) and Lhe following items were given:— Songs, Miss McLeod (Gordonton) ; pianoforte solos, Miss Margaret Norrish; songs, Mr Sedley Kite. The tennis club were responsible for organising the evening, which was most successful. Novelty dances were won by Mr and Mrs Sedley Kile j and by Miss J. Graham and Mr M. j Boyd/ Mr F. Boyd was the master of ceremonies. During the evening, Mr A. Steen6on, patron of the tennis club, asked the guests of the evening to accept a beautiful clock as a mark of esteem and with best wishes for their future happiness. Both have been very popular members of the club for some years. Mr Steenson then asked Miss Christiansen to accept the numerous gift parcels with the best wishes of the donors. After musical honours had been given thfem, Mr D. Kite suitably responded.
