EASTPORT ROAD CLUB OPENING OF SEASON PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES (Special to Times) TE AROHA, Thursday. The Eastport Road Tennis Club bold its opening day in perfect weather, and with a large attendance of players. The president, Mr G. M. Wags tali', welcomed the visitors, and Mrs Wagstair sent the first bail over the net. Mr Wratt presented the trophies won last season as I'oJlows:—Men's handicap singles, G. G. Horn; women’s handicap singles, Mrs Reg Wagstair; junior handicap singles; Alan Nitz; men’s handicap doubles, J. George and K. Winchester; women’s handicap doubles.. Mesdames R. WagstaiT and <:. Qualtrough; combined handicap doubles, K. Clements and Mrs A. A. Clernenis. The winners of the Yankee tournament for the day were Mrs L. Hight and Mr Wratt. At the annual meeting of the Eastport Road Tennis Club -the following otficers were elected:—Patron, 'Mr W. A. Clark, president, Mr G. M. WagstaiT; vice-pre-sidents, Mesdames A. A. WagstaiT. Horn, Messrs N. B. Eastwood, A. Clements, C. F. Horn, C. F. Smart; club captain, Mr A. Keigbtley; vice-captain, Mr C. Brooke; assistant. Mr c. Qualtrough; secretary, Mr C. Brooke; women’s committee. Mesdames Ward. Thompson. Nitz, Misses R. Horn. ,1. Rradhead. D. Eastwood; men’s committee. Messrs A. Keightley, R. WagstaiT, C. G. Horn, T. M. Qualtrough, N. B. Eastwood, J. R. Horn: handicap committee, Misses R. Horn, T. Cartwright. Messrs J. R. Horn. A. Keightley, C. Qtialtrough. T. M. Qualtrough; auditor, Mr a. Keightley. The meeting decided to enter A and B teams in the Piako Association’s competitions.
