Result:— NEWCASTLE CUP First £750, second £IOO, third £SO; special prize or £IOO to the trainer or the winner; U miles and 100yds SALAZAR, W. E. Waterrord and E. Hush’s ch h, syrs, by Nassau— Barby, 7.1 (J. E\ Duncan) i OSCULUM, Mrs E. J. Watt’s b g, aged, by Doric—Sister Vamp, 6.9 (A. Podmore) 2 VESTAL, P. Rirtdlee’s ch m. syrs, by Pantheon—Vesper Bell, 7.4 (\Y. Lappin) 3 Nineteen started, including- Moorsotls and Housemaster. Head, three-quarters of a length. Time, Yonng Crusader piloted the field Tor over a mile, but weakened badly in the run home. ' Moorsotis was well placed throughout, and was right on lop of the placegetters at the finish. Ripley, who was rourth, fell arter passing the judge’s box. and brought down Gold Pan and Perimond. The jockey, r. Parsons, rractured a thigh. The horses were unhurt.
