FROM 9.30 LAST NIGHT GOVERNOR’S PROCLAMATION OFFICIAL NOTIFICATION (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Monday Official notification of the British declaration of war on Germany is contained in an extraordinary Gazette issued at 3.30 a.m. touay. The document states;— “His Excellency the GovernorGeneral has It in command from His Majesty the King to declare that a state of war exists between His Majesty and the Government of the German Reich, and that such state of war has existed from 9.30 p.m. New Zealand standard time on the third day of September, 1939.” The proclamation is signed by the Governor-General, Viscount Galway, and the acting-Prime Minister, the Hon. P. Fraser.
