SURPRISE PARTY SILVER WEDDING CELEBRATED A jolly surprise party was taken to the home of Mr and Mrs L. Harris, Eureka, recently, the occasion beiug their silver wedding anniversary. Dancing and games were enjoyed, the music being supplied by Miss G. Townsend. Delightful songs were rendered by Messrs McLachlan and Brewers. After a delicious supper had been served by the women Mr W. Percy, of Cambridge, on behalf of all present, in an appropriate speech presented the guest-s-of-honour with a handsome silver cake dish. Little Margaret Stewart, of Te Aroha, grand-daughter of Mrs Harris, presented her with a beautiful posy. Mr Harris suitably replied. Those present were:—Mr and Mrs G. Harris, Mr and Mrs W. CARD EVENING An enjoyable card evening organised by the Ladies’ Social Club was held in the Eureka Hall recently. Flag five hundred was played, the winning trio being Mesdames Harris and Townsend and Mr Teehan. A competition was won by Mrs Harris. Supper was served later in the evening.
