AUSTRALIAN TRADE

NEW ZEALAND RESTRICTIONS EXPANSION OF INDUSTRIES United Press Assn—Elec. Tel. CopyTtrbt) CANBERRA, Aug. 21 Trade returns issued to-day disclose that Australia's trade with New Zealand fell £490,219 in 1938-39, due to a large extent to import restriction*. The decline of confidence in Australian industry resulting from European difficulties, and its attendant business recession, was gradually being overcome with Great Britain's increasing strength and determination to check aggression, said Mr A. B. Adams, chairman of William Adams and Company, Limited, at the company’s annual meeting in Sydney.
