WILL IT BE SUMMONED? CALLERS ON MR 011 AM B ERL AIN {Omclal Wireless) (Received August 22, 11 a.m.) RUGBY, August 21 One matter which it may he assumed will not be excluded from consideration at tomorrow's meeting of Ministers is the summoning of Parliament. Before the adjournment Mr Chamberlain assured the House of Commons that the Government would not hesitate—if it thought developments made it desirable—to call Parliament •together before the date fixed for reassembly, October 3. At the same time he resisted an amendment to the adjournment motion which so night to lix a special session for tomorrow's date, and it may still be the views of himself and his colleagues that a meeting of Parliament is not at present necessary or opportune. Callers on Mr Chamberlain included Mr A. Greenwood (leader of the Labour Party), Sir Samuel Ho are (Secretary of State for the Home Department), Dr. Burgin t Minister of Transport), and Admiral Chatfield Minister for the Co-ordination of Defence). Mr Chamberlain and Viscount Halifax conversed for 3J hours. Virtually a full Cabinet meeting will be held tomorrow.
