CAMBRIDGE
AGRICULTURAL SHOW ANNUAL REPORT (Special to Times) CAMBRIDGE, Monday A successful year is reviewed in he report of the Waikato Central Agricultural Association, which will be presented at the annual meeting next •Tidav. Details of the show, held on Vlarch 10 and 11, figure prominently n the report, it being stated that the jsual high standard was maintained n all departments. The number of entries in the various sections was well up to previous
years, there being a large entry of dairy cattle.
The receipts and expenditure account show that a small profit of £34 3s Id was made on the year’s operations.
“While the receipts in all departments have been well maintained, and in some cases increased in previous years, the rising costs are malting it difficult to show a reasonable profit,” states the report. “In addition a donation of £25 was made to the Waikato Agricultural and Pastoral Association in connection with the Royal Show, and an extension of the water supply necessitated an expenditure of £l2. There was also a Considerable
amount of new timber required f< axtra yards.”
The Friday and Saturday she dates had proved a success, but t.t: clashing with racing and trotting fix tures discounted the gate takings i some extent.
