Copyright) (Received August 21, 11 a.m.) LONDON, August 20 The death has occurred at Klerksdorp of Commander Frank Wild, hitherto the only living descendant of Captain Cook, lie lived in penury in South Africa for many years. Commander Wild spent ten years in the Antarctic, a record for explorers. Commander Wild, who was 65 years of age, accompanied Captain Scott to the Antarctic in the Discovery, 19014; Shackleto-n, 1907-9; Dr. Mawson, 1911-13; and the Imperial transAntarctic expedition, 1914. He was second in command of the Quest in 1921. He received the Patron’s Medal of the Royal Geographical Society in 1924. Commander Wild published “Shaekleton's Last Voyage” in 1923.
