OBITUARY
FATHER I*l. O'LEARY (By Telegraph. —-Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, Monday The death has occurred after an illness lasting eight months of Father Mark O'Leary a well-known missioner of the Society of Mary in Australia and New Zealand. Father O’Leary was born in Masterton in 1888 and was a brother of Mr 11. F. O'Leary, K.C., a prominent Wellington barrister. in 14 years on missions to parishes throughout Australia and New Zealand Father O’Leary became known as one of the most gifted preachers of his dav. He returned to mission work early last year after seven years hi Nelson parish, but his health broke down in October, since when he had been in hospital. Father O'Leary was educated at St. Patrick’s College, Wellington, where lie was oustanding as ail athlete and footballer, and at Meeanee and Greenmeadows, being ordained in December, 1914. MR DAVID HUGH ROBERTS (By Telegraph.—Press Association) GREYMOUTH, Tuesday The death occurred this morning of iMr David Hugh Roberts, aged 74, well-known in sawmilling and racing circles. Born in Upper Hutt, he had resided on the West Coast for 40 years. Frost on Cauliflowers I Frosts at Pukekohe on two succesi sive mornings have done considerable j damage to cauliflower crops. The I nests discoloured the white flower of j plants which were ready for cutting. ! and the discoloured portion soon deteriorated. As a result the price of 1 cauliflowers advanced sharply yesterday and this will to some extent compensate the growers for their losses. As the mature crops have Leen damaged it is expected that higher i prices will rule for about a week.
