FORWARD TUSSLE AT EDEN PARK AUCKLAND FIVE UP IN FIRST SPELL HOME TEAM MAINTAIN ADVANTAGE On a muddy ground, which became a quagmire as the play progressed, the return match between Waikato and Auckland was played at Eden Park, Auckland, this afternoon before a good attendance considering the unpleasant conditions obtaining. Auckland won by 11 points to 5. A greasy ball and the heavy nature of the ground saw play develop chiefly into a stern forward tussle, in which the Waikato pack predominated. For the greater part of the game the Waikato forwkrds stormed the Auckland line, and though Auckland led five points to nil at the interval the visitors were unlucky not to cap several promising movements. The second half was a repetition of the first, Auckland going over on two occasions to carry the day 11—5.
