DISPUTE AT GOAL MINES DISAPPOINTED WITH AWARD (United Press Assn. —Elec. Tel. Copyright) SYDNEY, June 30 Two thousand northern coal miners stopped work today, four main pits being idle. Their action followed the general disappointment expressed with the new award issued by the Federal Arbitration Court, which provides l'or an eight-hour day and a live-day week in the industry. The Court refused the union's claim for a minimum wage. The unions are endeavouring to induce the men to return to work on Monday, pending an investigation into the position. It is expected the price of coal will be increased by 2s to 3s a toil when the award becomes operative on August 16.
