MANAWARU CLEARING The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd., report having held a satisfactory clearing sale on Thursday on account of the es-tate of the late F. W. Howard. Manawaru. The herd of over 100 Jersey and Jerseycross cows came forward in good condition and sold well to a large bench of buyers. The offering of 16 incalf heifers created keen competition, selling to £l2 5s and averaging £ll 15s. A line of 18 good breeding sows was offered, a good sale resulting at prices well in advance of late rates. Competition for farm horses was good, with prices in this section very satisfactory. Farm implements and sundries sold at late clearing sale rates. Quotations. —Choice young Jersey and Jersey-cross cows, early cal vers, £l2 5s to £l3; choice young Jersey and Jersey-cross cows. CLEARANCE AT FAIRFIELD

The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd., report having held a satisfactory clearing sale on Thursday on behalf of Mr John Casey, of “Fairfield Farm.” The herd came forward in good condition, early ealvers fully maintaining late clearing sale rates, but later ealvers were not so keenly sought. Satisfactory prices were realised for the farm implements and sundries.

Realisations were:—Choice Jersey dairy cows, close in profit. £9 10s to £lO 15s; second ealvers, close to profit, £8 to £9 ss; later calving cows, £6 5s to £7 10s; poor conditioned, £4 10s to £5 15s.

CLEARING AT MELVILLE

G. W. Vercoe and Company, Limited, report having held a clearing sale on behalf of Mr P. A. de Luen, of Melville, yesterday. The herd came forward in good condition and bidding throughout was very keen, resulting in an average of £lO 8s for the 70 cows. The heifers were on the small side, but nevertheless sold well it prices ranging up to £ll. The farm horses sold from £l7 10s to £2B, and the 90 f.m. ewes offered on account of Mr A. Parkin realised 10s. WAIHI STOCK SALE

The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, report having

conducted their usual Waihi stock sale yesterday when a small offering of store cattle, and a good yarding of

dairies, came forward. Competition for boners was steady and late rate-s were fully maintained, while dairy cattle of ill classes elicited a better enquiry and values generally showed an improvement.

Quotations: Cattle, Fat Jersey cows, £5 to £5 10s; lighter, £3 18s td £4 16s; medium boners, £2 14s to £2 19s; lighter, £2 to £2 Bs. Dairy cattle: Medium quality Jersey heifers, £5 10s to £6 10s; smaller, £3 15s to £4 7s Gd; Jersey dairy cows, July ealvers, £5 7s 6d to £6 10s; more backward, £4 10s to £5 2s 6d; inferior sorts, £3 2s 6d to £3 15s.

The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, report having held their usual monthly stock sale at Rangiriri on Wednesday, when a fair yarding, comprising mostly yearling heifers and store caws, was offered. T'here was a good enquiry for yearling heifers which sold freely at late rates. Light Polled Angus steers sold to £G ss; medium Jersey cows, £4 to £4 10s: boner cows, £2 Is to £3 17s; Shorthorn heifers, r.w.b., 8s to £3 17s; yearling Jersey heifers, £3 to £3 7s Gd; yearling Shorthorn heifers, £2 12s 6d to £3 4s; small yearling heifers, 30s to £2 10s; dairy cows, £4 to £6 15s.
