INOREASf PROVIDED PERSONAL GRADING THE BASIS (By Telegraph —Press Association) WELLINGTON, Thursday An increase in the salaries of secondary school teachers is provided in an amendment to the Secondary Schools Regulations issued with tonight’s Gazette. The effect will ensure that the salaries of assistant teachers graded B will depend upon the personal grading of the teacher and not upon the position held. “Actually there are more grade B teachers than positions,” said the chief inspector of secondary schools, Mr E. J. Parr. “Teachers will now be enabled to reach eventually the maximum salary for grade B even although they lold grade C or grade D positions.”
