MR WALLIS MYERS DEAD PROMINENT CRITIC AND COAC'H (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. (Received June 17, 3.15 p.m.) LONDON, June 16 The death has occurred of Mr A. Wallis Myers, one of the best-known figures of the lawn tennis world. Mr Myers, who was 61 years of age, had been associated with lawn tennis for over 40 years as player, coach and commentator. He was regarded as a leading authority on the game and was tennis critic for several well-known newspapers and publications. Among his better known books are “Complete Lawn Tennis Player,” “Story of the Davis Cup” and ’Twenty Years of Lawn Tennis.” In addition, he was founder and editor of the Lawn Tennis Almanack. Myers played a large part in the training of British Davis Cup teams.
