VISIONS OF SPAIN ANNEXATION OF PORTUGAL ITALO=GERMAN HELP (Independent Cable) (Received June 17, 3.15 p.m.) LISBON, June 16 It is reported that there is a strong movement among General Franco’s Falangists in favour of the forcible annexation of Portugal. It Is believed that the movement has been enqouraged by Signor Mussolini and Herr Hitler. The Falangists urge the advantages of making the Iberian Peninsula an economic unit and claim that with Portugal’s colonial Empire Spain would be able to return to her former Imperial glory.
