LEE—SHAW ’MAIDS WEAR BLUE TAFFETA Ideshia berries, gold chrysanthemums and autumn leaves were artistically arranged in St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Claudelands, on the afternoon of Saturday, May 27. when Joan Earlynne, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs M. M. Shaw, of Station Road. Claudelands, was married to Alan Macpherson, second son ot' Mr and Mrs P. 0. Lee, of Aldred Road. Remuera. Auckland. The Rev. P. Gladstone Hughes was the officiating minister, and Mr P. G. Her knee-length tuiie v. il, which was arranged to form three c. *]•»*.-> about the shoulders, was '•aiigiit to the head with a spray of orange blossom, and she carried a shower bouquet of white chrysanthemums. roses, gerberas and maidenhair The Attendants Miss Gwendolyn Dillon, Rotorua, colisin of the bride, and Miss Gwendalyn isliaw, sister of the bride, were in attendance as bridesmaids and wore picture frocks of blue taffeta shot with gold, the overskirts of stiffened blue net being finished with broad bands of taffeta. Large 'sprays of tinted roses were appllqued on the net and the coatees, tight-fitting at the waistline. fell to form petals. Gold ornaments were worn in the hair, and they carried shower bouquets of pink gladioli, carnations and gerberas with maidenhair fern. Mr Angus Burgess was the best man and Mr David Cairns, Wellington, was the groomsman. The ushers at the church were Messrs F. Sydenham and J. Cochiane. After the ceremony a reception was held in the Masonic Hall, River Road, which had been charmijigly arranged with ideshia berries, autumn leaves, palms and purple sage. Mrs Shaw received the guests wearing a black georgette and net frock with a shoul- | der spray of cyclamen and maiden- ; hair fern, and a smart black hat trim- j med in cyclamen. The bridegroom’s J mother was wearing an ink blue Angora ensemble with toning hat and veil. Her shoulder spray was composed of autumn leaves and ideshia berries. When Mr and Mrs A. M. Lee left by car for a tour of the North Island, the bride travelled wearing an ensemble of diced check chrvsant wool with toning hat and suede accessor ies. They will make their home in Whangarei.
