Will Try Prowess on Rifle Range

'From a Correspondent) CANBERRA, .tune 9. Two Senators have challenged each other to a rifle contest on the Canberra rifle ranrge. The trouble started when Senator Ashley ’Lab. speaking on tlie Supply and Development Bill, claimed that half the rifles in Australia were ineffective because they had not been changed to shoot new type of ammunition. Senator Hein (U.A.P.) questioned his credentials as a judge of rifles, and the duel was soon on. The two Senators are to fire two matches using new and old types of ammunition.

Senator Dein said: “I have not handled a rifle for nearly 20 years, but my eye is as good as ever, and that is what counts. I am looking forward to' the match and 1 have a good idea what the result will he.” Senator Ashley, while admitting that tie needs a few practice shots, said: “Once you have handled a riHe, you lose your skill only when your sight fails, and there is nothing wrong with my sight.” A. referee is being sought for the match, but it has been suggested rether unkindly tiiat the only safe place for onlookers would be on the targets-
