MOTOR-CYCLIST INJURED PILLION RIDER ESCAPES (By Telegraph.—Special to Times) TE KUITI, Friday A motor-cyclist, William Ronald Level, single, aged 26, cook and baker, of Auckland, is lying in a critical condition in Te Kuiti Hospital as the result of a collision at Tangitu Junction, 29 miles soutli of Te Kuiti yesterday. 'Fhe cycle struck a van a glancing blow, and Levet’s head struck a projecting door hinge, his skull being fractured. A pillion rider, Frederick John Dempsey, formerly of Gisborne and now of Auckland, escaped with shock. The driver of the van was Carl Herbert Schmidt, of Auckland. Captain 11. M. Rush worth was a witness of accident and gave assistance.
