PEARL-TINTED SATIN i A wedding was solemnised at I Ohaupo recently, when Mary Elizabeth | (Betty), eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Thomas J. Allen, Lake Road, Ohaupo, was married to Cyril KitehenI it. elder son of Mrs M. E. and the late Mr J. Shaw, -Paterangi, Ohaupo. The j Rev. Father O’Flynn performed the ceremony. j The bride, who was given away by i her fattier, wore a lovely gown of I pearl-tinted satin and lace, which was | cut on slender lines. The skirt was j designed in panels and fell to form a i long circular train which was inset j with godets of silk lace. The bodice, I fashioned with a high neckline and ! Peter Pan collar was softly ruched to a point in front and was fastened from the back of the neck to the waist with tiny satin buttons. The sleeves were cut with high ruched shoulders and tapered to points over the wrists. A coronet of orange blossom adorned the Juliet cap of lace from which her lovely veil of satin appliqued tulle fell in graceful folds to form a second train. The bride carried a lovely bouquet of white chrysanthemums, sweet peas and maidenhair fern. The Attendant A charming frock of cerise taffeta poult was worn by ttie bridesmaid, Miss Maurine S-havv. The corsage was designed with a heart-shaped neckline and allied at the high corselette waistline to a fully gored skirt which was finished at the hemline with a band of ruching. A little bolero, with high puffed sleeves and edged all round with ruching completed the ensemble. She wore a top-knot of gold-tinted I flowers which were repeated in her I bouquet. ! Mr Maurice Sexton was best man j and the ushers were Messrs Fred j Alien, Ivan Shaw- and R. Cately. j Following the ceremony, a reception i was held at 'the home of the bride's parents, where the dining room had i been artistically decorated with cerise j and white streamers and bowls of : golden autumn flowers. Mrs Allen re- ; ceived her guests in a smartly tailored j nigger brown striped costume and i peachbloom hat to match. She was | assisted by her daughter. Mrs Cately, | and Mrs Shaw, mother of the bride- | groom. Mrs Shaw wore a smart frock j of burnt brick regina cloth under a I brown fur fabric coat. Mrs Cately was j attired in a petrel blue jumper suit and matching toque. They carried posies of autumn-tinted flow'er*

The bride travelled in a London tan suit worn with an emerald green blouse and a tan and green peachbloom hat.
