SOCIAL EVENING

HAMILTON CITIZENS' BAND The Ladies' Committee of the Hamilton Citizens' Band entertained the bandsmen and their wives on Thursday evening in the bandroom. A very happy time was spent, gaiety being the keynote of the evening. Dancing and games interspersed by items by Mrs W. Tallis, Messrs H. Martin and P. Henicker were much enjoyed. Competitions were won by “ Mr J. Brookes and Mr M. Conners, while novelty dances were won by Mr and Mrs .1. Brookes and Mr and' Mrs \V. Tallis. During tlie evening a crowning ceremony was performed by Mr T. Parker, president of the South Auckland* Hand Association, whicti created much amusement. Mr Parker also took ttiis opportunity* of congratulating the hand on Iheir excellent performance at the contest. Mrs T. Parker, on behauf of the Irdies commutes, made a presentation to Miss 1.. Webster for the splendid work she has done in connection with the social evenings. Miss Webster suitably replied. The singing of -Vuld Lang Syne brought to a close a happy evening.
