QUEEN CARNIVAL

PARTY FO COUNTRY CANDIDATE

The Queen Carnival held under the auspices of St. Peter's Church, at Cambridge, having been launched, functions are in full swing for the various queens On Thursday last. Mr and Mrs Alwyn -Gascoigne, of Roto-o-rangi. arranged a very successful evening in aid of the Country Queen, Miss Noreen White. Miss Jean McLeod and Mr L. Carey gave vocal numbers and after several games and competitions, Miss White played the piano for community Mrs Gascoigne was wearing a frock of patterned silk relieved in clover. Among those present were:—Mesdames Carl White, A. E. McGovern. J. McGovern, Misses Josephine McGovern. D. McLeod. M. Bourke, M. Kelly. M. McDevitt, D. Kelly and A. Stephen.
