MARCHING TOWARDS INTERIOR TOWNS SHELLED BY WARSHIPS {United Press Assn.— Elec. Tel. Copyrignt (Received April 8, 11.10 a.m.) TIRANA, April 7 The Albanian Government reported that troops, aided by volunteers, lour times forced back Fascists who were attempting to land at Durazzo. Other messages received in Tirana said that the first Italian forces landing at Valona and Santi Quaranta also were repulsed, but later advices admitted that Albanian resistance had been overcome and the Fascist columns were marching towards the interior. Five Italian warships allegedly shelled Durazzo and Valona, causing heavy casualties among the population. Riflemen, and even boys with only rocks for weapons, are reported to be harassing the Italians, who have pressed on towards Tirana, which i being surveyed repeatedly l,y Fascist bombing planes. Albania's regular army numbers nlv 12.000 men. Meantime Italian sources claim the rapture of four towns. Sanli Quaranta. Valona, Durazzo and san Giovanni do Medua.
