OBITUARY
SISTER MARY ST. FRANCIS (Special to Times) AUCKLAND, Monday The death occurred at the Mater Misericordiae Hospital oil Saturday of Sister Mary St. Francis, aged 23, a teacher at the Pukekohe Convent School and formerly a teacher at the Hamilton and Morrinsville convent schools. The interment took place at Panmure to-day, being preceded by Requiem Mass at the Ellerslie Church, at which Bishop Liston officiated. MR W. S. GILLIES (Special to Times) TAUPO, Monday The death has occurred at Rotorua of Mr William Stanley Gillies, of Taupo, who was one of the first drivers when the motor mail service was started between Rotorua and Taupo 25 years ago. Born at Palmerston North in 188 G, Mr Gillies was the son of the late Mr Hugh Gillies, of Edankillie Park. lie was tlie proprietor of Gillies Motors, Limited. Mr Gillies was a keen angler, llis wife, a son and two daughters survive him. MR C. E. HEATH (Special to Times) AUCKLAND, Tuesday Advice has been received of the death at his home in Surrey of Mr Cuthbert E. Heath, 0.8. E., who was sometimes referred to as the “Father” of the modern Lloyd’s. Born in March, 1859, Mr Heath was a son of the late Admiral Sir Leopold Heath.
