NEW ZEALAND BUTTER
FURTHER DROP IN PRICES LATEST LONDON QUOTATIONS WELLINGTON, Saturday Advices from London state that prices for butter continue to drop. Salted New Zealand is quoted at 118 a per cwt., which is 2s lower than the npd-week level, and 4s lower than the value ruling at the end of last week. The market is slightly more active. Values are 6s 3d below the guaranteed price equivalent *f 124 a 3d per cwt. In spite of the preaent decline, prices are still 5s In advance of the level ruling a year ago. A Press Association message sent from London on Thursday states that Australian salted butter is selling at 115 s per cwt., which is also 4a lower than last week. Danish at 144 e per cwt. also is 4s cheaper, in unsalted butters, New Zealand is at 122 s and Australian at 118 s per cwt. The cheese market la slow. New Zealand white and coloured are selling at 60s, declines of Is 3d since last week. Recent quotations and those of a year ago compare as follows:
The present price of 116 sis equal to approximately 14.03 d per lb., f.0.b.. New Zealand ports, compared with the guaranteed price, of 14.59 d per lb., f.o.b. The London equivalent of tbe guaranteed price is 124 s3d per cwL The equivalent price of cheese is
about 7.35 d per lb., f.0.b., compared with the guaranteed price of 8.42 d.
