GORDONTON FUNCTION
PRESENTATION DANCE On the occasion of their approaching marriage Miss Laurel O’Hearn and Mr W. Hodge were tendered a complimentary dance in the Gordon Hon Hall recently. There was a good attendance and a jolly time was spent. Euchre was played at the'card tables, Mr and Mrs A. G. Parfitt being the winners. In making the presentation of a handsome chiming clock, Mr M. Cain, on behalf of the residents, wished the guests every success in the future, and extended congratulations. Mr W. Hodge suitably returned thanks and apologised for the absence, through ill health, of Mr W. O’Hearn. Ai* ornament from the Drama Club was also presented to the guest-of-honour by Mrs W. J. Carswell. Musical honours were accorded the guests. Lovely bouquets of zinnias were presented by Pauline Brading to Miss O’Hearn and to Mrs O’Hearn. Supper was then served, the tables being arranged with vases of flowers in gold tonings. Mrs W. J. Bridgman, wearing cyclamen cloque and lace, and Mrs H. Alderwick, wearing black lace, were hostesses for the evening. Miss O’Hearn's frock was of old gold slipper satin.
